Detectives have identified the man they believe robbed a York City bank on Tuesday afternoon and are asking for the public's help in finding him.

Wanted is David William Stickel, 39, of no fixed address.

He's believed to be living in the York area and also has arrest warrants from Lancaster and North Carolina, according to York City Detective First Class Jeff Spence.

Asked how detectives identified Stickel as the robber, Spence would only say, "good old-fashioned police work."

Police allege Stickel walked into PNC Bank, One MarketWay West, at 3:45 p.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money.

The note implied he had a gun, but he never showed one, Spence said, and he made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said this man robbed the PNC Bank at One MarketWay West on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012.
