A Harrisburg resident is facing trial for allegedly stabbing a York City man in February.
Shawn A. Thompson, 33, of the 900 block of Norwood Street, remains in Dauphin County Prison, charged with homicide and robbery of a motor vehicle. He's accused of killing 21-year-old Tyrone S. Manley.
At a preliminary hearing Monday, a district judge determined enough evidence exists for Thompson to stand trial in Dauphin County Court.
Harrisburg Police said Thompson stabbed Manley in the chest while in the 200 block of North Second Street about 2:10 a.m. Feb. 26.
Thompson then ran to River and Strawberry streets, pulled a passenger from inside a taxicab and ordered the cabby to take off, police allege.
Thompson assaulted the taxi passenger as that passenger tried to pull him out of the taxi, police said, at which point officers caught up with the alleged killer and arrested him.
Neither defense attorney Christopher Dreisbach nor Dauphin County first assistant district attorney Fran Chardo could immediately be reached for comment.
