State and local police are investigating the homicide of a 64-year-old Adams County woman.

Christiana Leonard was found dead in her 725 Third St. home in Conewago Township, Adams County, on Tuesday, said Trooper Michele Davis in a news release.

When Leonard failed to show up for work on Tuesday, a family member went to Leonard's home and discovered her body, Davis said.

Police believe Leonard was killed sometime between Monday and Tuesday.

The Adams County Coroner's Office will conduct an autopsy Wednesday morning to determine the cause of death.

State police are working in conjunction with Conewago Township Police in conducting the investigation.
